Why this recipe works
- Suitable for dairy-free and gluten-free diets.
- Uses ground turkey for a lighter, protein-forward main dish.
- Bright honey and toasted sesame flavors with a touch of coconut aminos for depth.
- Easy one-bowl prep and straightforward baking.
Recipe ingredients
- ground turkey – any variety will work, though regular-fat turkey (around 93% lean) keeps the loaf moist.
- eggs – bind the mixture together.
- garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley – simple seasonings to enhance flavor.
- almond flour – a gluten-free binder that replaces breadcrumbs or wheat flour.
- sesame seeds – sprinkled on top for crunch and visual appeal.
- toasted sesame oil – adds a rich, nutty sesame aroma.
- coconut aminos – a sweet, savory alternative to soy sauce that pairs perfectly with honey and sesame.
- honey – use runny honey to glaze and sweeten the loaf.
Additions/ Substitutions
- Ground chicken can be substituted for ground turkey for a slightly different flavor profile.
- Soy sauce or balsamic vinegar can replace coconut aminos if needed, though the flavor will change slightly.

Step by step instructions
This is a true one-bowl recipe: combine the ingredients, shape in a loaf pan, and bake. It’s an uncomplicated dinner solution that still tastes elevated.
Expert tips
- Ground turkey tips
- Choose 93% lean ground turkey when possible to retain moisture. Very lean turkey (99%) can dry out the loaf.
- How to store
- Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3–5 days.
- Serving suggestions
- Pair with coconut aminos fried rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted asparagus for a complete meal.

Honey Sesame Paleo Turkey Meatloaf

Ingredients
- 2 lb ground turkey, (one 99% fat free and one 93% lean)
- 3 eggs
- 1.5 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1/3 cup almond flour
- 3 tsp sesame seeds
- 2.5 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 3 Tbs coconut aminos
- 4 Tbs honey
- 1 tsp dried parsley
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, eggs, almond flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, dried parsley, toasted sesame oil, coconut aminos, and honey. Mix until just combined.
-
Line a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper and grease it, leaving an overhang on two opposite sides to lift the loaf out after baking.
-
Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and press it evenly. Sprinkle sesame seeds across the top for texture and presentation.
-
Bake at 375°F for 1 hour, until the loaf is cooked through.
-
Let the meatloaf rest in the pan for 15 minutes, then lift it out using the parchment overhang and slice to serve.
Notes
- Protein swap: Ground chicken works well in place of turkey.
- Sauce swap: Soy sauce or a splash of balsamic vinegar can replace coconut aminos if necessary.
