May was a busy month on my blog, full of recipes and food photography. If I had to pick one image that best represents the month, it would likely be my strawberry rice pudding. The photo captures the simple, comforting appeal of the dessert and reflects the kind of food that inspired many posts that month.
Another contender is the image from my first cherries of the season:

It’s hard to choose between them. If you also dislike picking favorites, you’ll be glad to hear you don’t have to this time.
I’m excited to announce that I will be hosting this month’s Does My Blog Look Good In This? event. For those already familiar with the event, you know the format, but here is a quick reminder of the guidelines for anyone new.
- One food photograph per person.
- The photograph must have been taken by you.
- The photograph must have been posted on your blog in May 2007.
- The deadline to submit your entry is June 27th at midnight EST (U.S.).
- A panel of judges will evaluate entries and select winners in the following categories:
o Aesthetics: composition, food styling, lighting, focus, and similar visual criteria.
o Edibility: does the photo make us want to taste the food?
o Originality: a photograph that stands out and surprises us.
o Overall Winner: the entry that best combines aesthetics, edibility, and originality.
- Compose an email with DMBLGiT in the subject line.
- Attach one qualifying food or drink photograph, preferably around 350px wide.
- Include the following information:
o Your name
o Your blog URL
o The URL of the post where the photo first appeared
o The camera you used - Send the email to bea [at] beaskitchen[dot] com before midnight on June 27th.
I look forward to your submissions and will publish the photos as they arrive, so be sure to check back to confirm your entry is included.
Good luck! Or, as we say in French, “Merde!” — used here in the traditional, good-luck sense.
The gallery of submissions will be available on the host’s photo gallery and is also linked from the sidebar icon.
