Halloween Twinkie Chocolate Bats
Ingredients
Makes 4 Twinkies
- 1 box of chocolate Twinkies
- 1 bag of Ghirardelli melting milk chocolate
- 1 cookie sheet fitted with wax paper
- 1 package of small edible eyes
- 1 disposable piping bag
Directions
- Unwrap the Twinkies and place them on the prepared cookie sheet.
- Freeze the Twinkies for 10 minutes; this helps the chocolate set quickly when dipped.
- Using a double boiler, melt the milk chocolate, stirring until smooth and glossy.
- Dip each frozen Twinkie into the melted chocolate, fully coating it. Set coated Twinkies aside on the wax paper.
- Press two edible eyes onto the top front of each Twinkie to form the bat’s face.
- Spoon the remaining melted chocolate into the disposable piping bag and trim a small tip.
- On a clean area of the wax-lined cookie sheet, pipe out 8 small bat wings (four pairs). Chill the sheet in the fridge for about 20 minutes to harden the wings.
- When the wings are firm, gently peel them off and insert one pair into each side of a Twinkie to create the bat wings.
- Serve and enjoy your Twinkie Chocolate Bats!

Tips: Freeze the Twinkies briefly so the filling stays intact and the chocolate sets evenly. If you prefer, use candy melts in a darker shade for a spookier look. Create wings of different sizes to give each bat a unique personality.
