No-bake gingerbread heads are a festive and simple holiday project that’s perfect for parties or a family activity.
If you want to jump straight to the fun part—decorating—these adorable little cookies come together in minutes. All you need are store-bought gingersnaps, some icing, a black edible marker, and plenty of sprinkles.
What you’ll need:
Box of Nabisco gingersnaps
White writing icing
Black edible marker
A variety of sprinkles (hearts, confetti, snowflakes, jimmies, jumbo shapes, etc.)
1. Using white writing icing, pipe dashed lines around the edge of each cookie to create a simple icing border. Allow the icing to dry completely before moving on.
2. Once the border is set, decorate each cookie however you like—this is where you can get creative with sprinkles and small candies.
Best Dressed Gingerbread Head
Draw a smile with a black edible marker. Attach heart, holly, and confetti sprinkles with a little writing icing and let everything dry completely.
Snap Gingerbread Head
Create a “bite” by pressing a small biscuit cutter into one edge of the cookie to remove a semicircle. For eyes, color a portion of white confetti sprinkles with a black edible marker to give them definition.
Starlight Bowtie Gingerbread Head
Use heart sprinkles for the bowtie and add a large white round sprinkle decorated with a red edible marker as a center accent.
Cutie Patootie Gingerbread Head
Use jumbo flower and heart sprinkles to create a sweet, whimsical face with big, playful accents.
Simply Sweet Gingerbread Head
Combine a jumbo heart with mini flowers and confetti sprinkles for a charming, delicate design.
Snowflake Gingerbread Head
Use jumbo snowflake shapes, tree sprinkles, and confetti for a wintry-themed cookie that looks like a frosty ornament.
Flower Girl Gingerbread Head
Decorate with white snowflake and confetti sprinkles for a delicate floral look that’s perfect for gifting or a tea party plate.
Puppy Gingerbread Head
This playful design was inspired by a curious beagle who snuck a plain gingersnap. To make the puppy, form ears from Tootsie Rolls softened briefly in the microwave and attach them with a dab of icing. Use a small black jelly bean for the nose.
Gingy Snap
Create a cookie inspired by Gingy from the movie Shrek by piping a mouth with red writing icing. For eyes, use white confetti sprinkles and add blue jimmies for expressive eyebrows. Keep decorations light so the character’s face remains recognizable.
